Erectile Dysfunction and Smoking

By Kristy Annely

Whether people accept it or not, sex plays a pivotal role in a relationship and sexual dysfunctions can destroy even the most loving couple. However, when addressed in time and with proper treatment, even chronic cases of sexual dysfunction can be cured.

Erectile dysfunction or the inability to initiate or maintain an erection is the leading sexual dysfunction in men in the United States. Each year, despite the fact that more than thirty million men are diagnosed with the disorder, the majority of erectile dysfunctions go unreported. Until recently, erectile dysfunction was recognized as a metabolic issue and not a lifestyle related disorder. However, studies have brought to light that those lifestyle choices like substance abuse and smoking are responsible for over 25% of all erectile dysfunction cases.

Every erection problem is believed to be related to blood flow since erections occur when blood rushes in to the penis. Anything that interferes with this process is the likely cause of the dysfunction. Apart from the obvious damage to the respiratory system, smoking does considerable damage to the body's circulation. The carbon monoxide fumes from cigarettes bind with the hemoglobin in the blood and reduce its oxygen carrying capacity. The carbon particles also lead to the deformation of the heart valves and reduce the count of the red blood cells (RBCs). All these factors combine to complicate cardiovascular problems that cause the arteries to harden (arterioscelerosis) and reduce blood supply to peripheral regions, especially the genitals. Thus smoking is directly responsible not only for erectile dysfunctions, but also for low sperm counts, increased sperm mortality and loss of libido.

When erectile dysfunctions are smoking related, they cannot be completely cured with medications like Viagra. The situation is further worsened when the smoker has conditions like diabetes and heart troubles. The only remedy, although it might seem like the end of the world to most men, is to quit smoking. There are many programs available over the Internet and through de-addiction centers that the smokers can make use of. What is most important is that quitting smoking means more than just freedom from sexual dysfunction, it also means your general health will improve,

Why You Should Get Help To Quit Smoking

By Tony James R.

Are you avoiding or delaying to quit smoking? If you think that the only disease contracted from smoking is lung cancer, you may be wrong.

Apart of lung cancer, cigarette smoking is also one of the leading cause of heart disease.

The chemicals in cigarettes and tobacco and cause:

* Hardening of the arteries

* Damage to cells that line coronary arteries and other blood vessels

* Increase in blood clotting.

* Decreased oxygen to the heart.

* Increased blood pressure and heart rate.

Also, one of the following diseases will increase the risk of having a heart attack:

* High Cholesterol (blocks arteries, including the arteries of the heart)

* High Blood Pressure (commonly referred to as hypertension)

* Diabetes (impairs circulation)

* Obesity

* Couch potatoism (otherwise known as a "sedentary lifestyle")

In other words, the above diseases will cause your arteries to be clogged with poisons and plague. As a result, your heart have to pump harder than normal to push blood to circulate your entire body. Assuming that your heart is already at work harder than normal, smoking is nearly a invitation for a heart attack or stroke.

It is even worse if one is overweight. The risk increases drastically. This is not some small minor health problems. Nor we are talking about the small percentage of having a heart attack or stroke and survive. The issue here is about potential DEATH. Cigarette is within your willpower and control to overcome.

Thus, diet and weight loss are also as crucial as also seeking help to quit smoking. Your life and the lives of your loved ones lies in risk at your own actions.

For every pound that you gain, or every time you smoke, you are putting yourself in greater risk to contract disease. The more you avoid or delay in quitting smoking, you are killing yourself more and more slowly by the day. The power to take responsibility to quit smoking lies within yourself, so start taking action today.

Tony James is an ex-smoker for 15 years and is currently helping smokers to quit smoking with ease without the discomfort of cravings or withdrawal symptoms.

5 Big Reasons To Get Smoking Cessation and Weight Loss Help

By Marie Borges

Are you putting off smoking cessation? You may think that if you smoke, the only disease that you are at risk of getting is lung cancer (isn't that bad enough?). Guess again.

Did you know that cigarette smoking is one of the leading causes of heart disease? The chemicals in cigarettes, cigarette smoke and other inhaled tobacco products cause:

* Decreased oxygen to the heart.
* Increased blood pressure and heart rate.
* Increase in blood clotting.
* Damage to cells that line coronary arteries and other blood vessels
* Hardening of the arteries

In addition, if you have one of the following diseases, and you also smoke, you are at increased risk of having either a heart attack or stroke:

* Obesity
* Diabetes (impairs circulation)
* High Blood Pressure (commonly referred to as hypertension)
* High Cholesterol (blocks arteries, including the arteries of the heart)
* Couch potatoism (otherwise known as a "sedentary lifestyle")

In short, any of the above diseases either cause your arteries to become clogged with plaque, or cause your heart to work harder to push blood (and thereby nutrients and oxygen) through your body. Now, assume that your heart is already working beyond its full functioning capacity, or struggling to do so. Then add the hardening of the arteries and other harmful effects of cigarette smoking. You, my friend, are begging to have a heart attack or stroke. Add to this being overweight, and your risk then increases even more dramatically. We are not talking about a few minor health problems. We are not talking about the small percentage of those that have a heart attack or stroke and survive, some with complications, such as paralysis (by the way, can you be SURE you will be part of that percentage? And why take the risk?). We are talking about potential death. From what? Cigarette smoking and your weight, both factors that are completely within your control.

At this point, diet and weight loss are not just important, but CRITICAL. Equally as critical is getting help with smoking cessation. Your life, as well as the lives of your loved ones (if you smoke around them, i.e. second hand smoke), is at risk.

Every pound you gain, every time you smoke cigarettes (either directly or indirectly), puts you at greater risk for disease. The more you put off smoking cessation, the more at risk you put yourself. Ultimately, you are responsible for your own health. Some things about yourself you cannot change, such as your eye color, height, etc. Some things you do have control over: getting help to stop smoking is just one of these. Weight loss and a sensible diet are the others.

No Shortage of Family Actvities in Ruidoso, New Mexico

By Bob Huntington

Ruidoso, New Mexico is a lot of things to many people. A ski resort, a thriving horse racing destination and, more than anything, a great place to spend time with your family. And where can you find a more fun mix of activities and events for the kids than in Southern New Mexico!

Ruidoso has a wonderful assortment of activities for children of all ages. Enjoy horse back riding with four stables in town and one on the nearby Mescalero Apache Reservation. If it's fishing you're after the hot spots are at the Grindstone Dam, Mescalero Reservation and the mighty Rio Ruidoso River, stocked with plenty of good sized trout. Just be sure and have a local fishing license, easily obtainable at the local WalMart and Western Auto. If you don't catch anything there, head on past the racetrack to Seeping Springs Trout Pond. They furnish the gear, the fishin' hole and you only pay 50 cents an inch for what you catch no license required. Here's the very best part...they clean them for you! My daugther took the family and came back with 4 lovely 12+ inch trout all ready for the grill.

Naturally, being in the mountains of New Mexico there's plenty of hiking and nature. The Lincoln National Forest is a start with plenty of other diverse scenery nearby. If you're after more urban pursuits, Fun Trackers Amusements in Ruidoso has go karts, bumper boats and goofy golf. That's just for starters. Add in the history of the region and you've got a plateful.

Ruidoso has it's own historical spots. There's Dowlin's Mill where Billy the Kid stayed. Don't forget a stop at the Hubbard Museum of the American West for an enchanting look at the past for all ages.

Capitan, a scant twenty minutes from Ruidoso is home to the only American figure with their own zip code...Smokey Bear. The Smokey Bear Historical Park is packed with tips on preventing wild fires with plenty of interactive display for the children. There's a small theater with regular showings, an informative garden area with many types of indigenous flora and of course the final resting spot of old Smokey himself. Always a tear there it seems.

In Lincoln, only 30 minutes away you've got the hub of the Lincoln County Wars. Characters like John Tunstall, Sheriff Bob Ollenger and of course William Bonney who became better known as Billy the Kid. It's the bloodiest street in America...in any era...with a nice selection of museums, shops and original buildings. The classic Wortley Hotel which still operates seasonally and the Ellis Store, now a splendid bed and breakfast are just examples.

An hour south of Ruidoso is Alamagordo. Pay a visit to their zoo. Perhaps the really big screen calls from the IMAX theater. Mystified by the stars? The Space Museum is bound to enthrall. Don't forget the allure of the magical White Sands National Monument...all great reasons to make the 60 minute drive.

Only 75 minutes out is the infamous Roswell, home to UFO buffs from around the world. Is it a weather balloon or something else? The UFO Museum has their opinion on the matter. Check them out!

If it seems like there are a lot of things to keep the kids loving the area, well that's because there are! Frequently concerned parents who come to enjoy the race track or casinos ask, "Is there anything for the kids to do?". You bet!

Lowering Your Risks for Sleep Apnea

By Elizabeth Radisson

Sleep apnea is a troubling disorder that will affects your sleep as well as having some very negative consequences on your health and well-being. This disorder can affect someone at any age and is considered to be a degenerative condition when. When sleep apnea is left untreated, the condition can become much more serious. There are things that can be done to lower your risk of developing sleep apnea. Those that are high in risk factors are much more prone to develop this very difficult sleep disorder. There are certain methods people can use to keep their risk for sleep apnea down.

Staying or getting into good shape is an important element to reducing your risk for sleep apnea. Fatty tissues in the neck that are a direct result of being obese are the leading cause of sleep apnea. This excess tissue can obstruct the airway by putting weight on the esophagus, which can lead to sleep apnea. It has been determined that having a neck with a circumference of over 17 inches presents a significant risk for contracting sleep apnea.

The use of depressants also increases the risk of developing sleep apnea. Depressants such as alcohol and sleeping pills cause the throat muscles to relax giving way to a possible airway obstruction. Alcohol should be taken no sooner than four hours before bedtime for this reason creating a lower chance of snoring and sleep apnea at bed time.

Smoking can also contribute to developing sleep apnea. Smoking causes increased inflammation in the throat as well as fluid retention in the upper airway. These two conditions can represent a serious airway obstruction.

Some people that experience sleep apnea only do so when lying on their backs at night. A conscious effort to sleep on one's side can be made to help remedy the situation. Many different techniques may be attempted such as sleeping with a pillow behind your back to prevent you from rolling onto your back. Whatever your method is, find one that works for you and stick with it.

Some of the most serious risks for sleep apnea can be reduced by lifestyle changes. Other factors such as old age and a narrow air passage cannot be adapted for and are unavoidable risks. If you suspect that you have sleep apnea, get a proper diagnosis from a certified sleep lab and begin to take steps to reduce your risk.

Smoking and Gum Disease

By Milos Pesic

If you think that smoking and only have effect on the heart and lung, you better think again. Recent studies have proved that smoking and gum disease are connected. Although the connection of smoking and gum disease is very well known, experts had just recently done a national study to prove the connection between smoking and gum disease. Researchers say that although smoking is one of the risk factor of gum disease, it is the one factor that is influenced by the individual who have gum disease.

Lots and lots of opinions have come out regarding the connection of smoking and gum disease. The nicotine and smoke of tobacco can cause constriction of the blood vessels, thus, reducing the distribution of oxygen and nutrients to the gum tissue. Cigarette smoking or chewing spit tobacco can also reduce the ability of the body to fight infections. Another study also proves that smokers are more prone to specific bacteria that can cause more aggressive gum disease.

The impact of all the research is that smokers have the highest possibility to have gum disease (making ex smokers having the second highest probability and non smokers last). Former smokers and non smokers also have better response to treatment of gum disease than those individuals who still smoke, thereby concluding that, individuals with gum disease that stopped smoking have better chance of achieving success with gum disease therapy than those who did not. Individuals who are currently active in smoking are four times more apt to have gum disease.

Researchers say that the link that connect smoking and gum disease is very much apparent. Recent studies shows that fifty-five percent of the study subject that has gum diseases were current smokers and almost twenty-two percent were ex smokers. The current smokers that average more than one to one and a half pack of cigarettes per day have six times more apt to have gum diseases than the subjects who do not smoke. And those who consume less than a pack a day have three times more probability to have gum disease.

The linkage between smoking and gum disease is caused by the suppression of the immune system of the body because of the tobacco, which reduces its ability against infection. Smoking also slows down the healing process of the gum tissue because it restricts the growth of the blood vessels.

Currents smoker are known to have worse oral and gum condition than those who do not smoke. Quitting smoking and exercising regular oral hygiene routine is very important for the well being of your gums. You dont only save the physical condition of your teeth and gums; you also save your health. It is time that you throw away that vice and have a clean and healthy lifestyle.

Learning the Symptoms of A Broken Computer

By Bryan D. Applegate

If your car sputtered and coughed and began to emit smoke, you would know that something bad was going on with the car and it was likely to get worse. So why is it that computers just shut down with no warnings at all? Aha, that's just it; if you don't recognize the early warning signs of a computer that's having trouble, most any expensive problem can sneak up on you. While there will indeed always be problems that are too advanced for the common user to detect or repair, more problems exist that are detectable by that same common user.

Viruses, adware, spyware and 'botnets' all result in a host computer behaving strangely. Low air pressure, low coolant and bad gas all force strange behavior in cars. Most people would fret themselves silly until they saw a mechanic for the car's benefit and their own peace of mind. Computer glitches should also warrant such fret. Here are some terribly common warning signs you should be aware of:

* Let's begin by accepting that Windows should not freeze or tell us to wait (with that blasted hour glass) for insufferable periods of time repeatedly.

* When we turn our computers on, we should see the screens and application windows that we've specifically requested run with Windows start-up (either through installation settings or Start>[All] Programs>Startup Folder).

* Computers do not yet crave our attention. When new application windows randomly appear with any kind of message, something other than you is working to bring them up. Learn which application is responsible.

* If you have your speakers ON all the time, it is unacceptable to only sometimes or occasionally hear the start-up music and other times not hear the start-up music; you should always hear all sounds. For some reason, audio drivers are often the first to exhibit inconsistencies when something is wrong.

* If you could previously install a program at any time, you're an Administrator with full privileges; if Windows spontaneously revokes privileges denying access to vital Windows components like the Control Panel, your problem is already worse than you know.

* Finally, they have not made computers that should smell of hot dust or melting plastic; it's not a marketing gimmick. These flavors have proved unsuccessful in the ice cream market and actually indicate BIG trouble inside your computer.

When caught in time, most viruses, adware and spyware problems and 'botnet' instructions can be eliminated and their return can be prevented. Recognizing the warnings signs is as easy as using a computer often enough to familiarize yourself with its regular behavior. This provides a baseline. If the computer varies significantly from the baseline behavior often enough, note in what way the computer is acting strangely.

Physical symptoms typically indicate physical problems; if any four of your five senses can pick up on a computer's odd behavior, you might be looking, smelling, feeling or hearing (please don't taste your computer) the need for a physical repair. Behavioral problems tend to indicate software problems.

Computer problems come in two 'flavors': Hardware and Software. Hardware is a physical issue that might add the cost of a new piece of hardware. Software problems mainly involve labor costs which no technician should be deprived. Saying, it's just slow, isn't a clear enough diagnosis. Clicking hard drives and 'you do not have permission' Windows indicate two totally different problems though they can both be tied in with slower performance.

Hopefully you can use some of this advice to help your favorite technician better diagnose growing problems and keep them from getting too far out of control.

Advice for Smokers for Dating Single Women

By Don Diebel

This week I want to discus smoking around single women. Do you smoke? If you do, I want to give you a few tips to help overcome womens' objections to dating smokers.

It really doesn't seem fair, but a lot of single women are turned off by people who smoke. They have their reasons, which I will get into later.

Please follow these rules that will make it easier for your date to tolerate your smoking:

1. Women are very turned off by smokers breath. You may not notice your breath because you are so used to smoking, but to women who don't smoke she finds it very offensive. Also, she may refuse to kiss you because of your smokers breath.

So, what's the cure to this problem? Be sure and use a strong mouthwash before you go out on your date. And if you smoke during your date, be sure and use breath mints. I just can't express enough to you how important this is.

2. Never assume that it's ok to light up a cigarette in front of your date. Always ask her permission first. She may not want you to smoke at all and may be very offended if you light up without asking her first.

3. If you do light up, whatever you do, don't blow smoke in her direction. And even worse, don't light up a cigar on your date. The odor is offensive to others as well as your date.

4. Do you smoke a lot in your apartment or house? If you do it leaves an odor offensive to women who don't smoke on your upholstery, curtains, carpet, furniture, etc. So, before you have your date over be sure and spray your place with air fresheners and light some scented candles when you first come in the door with your date.

Why go to all this trouble? Because, a lot of single women find the odor of cigarette smoke very offensive. You may not smell it, but I can assure you that women are like blood hounds when it comes to picking up scents and odors. Plus, some women have allergic reactions to smoke. It can clog up their lungs, make their eyes burn and water, make their sinuses run, upset their stomach, etc.

Let me recommend a product that eliminates smoke odors completely in your apartment or home. It's called EASY 1-2-3 Odor and Fragrance. It will remove all smoke smells from all sources. To find out where you can buy it in your area, call 214-EASY123.

5. And last, please show some respect for single women who don't smoke. Don't take the attitude of, "If she doesn't like me smoking, then tough shit! I'll smoke when and where I damn well please." With this attitude she may not want to date you.

In closing, what I'm about to say is not a lecture on quitting smoking. I just want to tell you about what happened to my very best friend:

He is only 37 years old and has been smoking between 2-3 packs of cigarettes a day since he has 16 years old. Also, he drinks 5-6 cans of Coke a day. And to make matters worse, he eats a high-fat diet and has a high-strung personality.

I've known him for over 11 years and I've always been worried about him smoking too much and his diet. I've always feared he would pay the price someday for not living a healthy lifestyle.

And sure enough, my worse fears for him became true. He recently had a stroke. Thank God he is not paralyzed, but it affected his speech. His speech is slow and slurred. With therapy maybe he will get his speech back. What's so sad is he made his living as a salesman and now with his speech problem, he'll have a hard time finding work.

Now, let's get to the worse part. The damned idiot is still smoking! He can't quit. I'm afraid he is setting himself up for another stroke which will be more severe or fatal.

In closing, for health reasons please quit smoking if you do. If you can't quit on your own, please seek professional help. Plus, if you don't smoke you can get more dates, because some single women refuse to date smokers.

A World Of Tobaccos, Flavors And Aromas To Be Enjoyed

By Clarence Walker

Fortunately, today we are blessed with improvements in transportation and communications that were simply impossible in the past. However, along the way some of the very forces that have made all of this possible have sometimes led to a level of homogeneity in which quality is sometimes secondary to the facilitation of manufacturing and distribution at the most competitive cost. This is at once a good news/bad news scenario. For example during one recent trip to Europe, where I basked in the history and diverse cultures, I also saw the rapidity with which plasticized American food and other franchises were cropping up even in the most historic of villages. Whatever the market will bear can sometimes lead to whatever the market will tolerate. As a prime counterpoint, witness the explosive growth of micro-breweries now offering alternatives. Fortunately, there are many other examples all around us, lending testimony to one of the most fundamental principles of marketing, nam ely that the will of the customer will drive the market.

I truly believe that this is now beginning to happen in the field of custom made cigarettes. We haven't seen anything yet, and I will dare to say that in the future there will be incredibly fine varietals of tobaccos with names and recognition that are just as well recognized as for instance a Merlot. It wasn't that long ago that wines meant red or white jug wines for many. However, the recognition of the delicious tastes of the varietals soon followed, as the appreciation of blending. This required public exposure to better wines as well as some degree of public education. Even in that industry there were years of domination by the prohibitionists which was inevitably overthrown by the will of the marketplace.

It may seem a stretch to some, but I can well envision a common growth curve fueled by the desire for something better in the realm of fine tobaccos. Trouble is, today most don't even know there is a choice and for the few who have tried to roll their own, they have all too soon be met with the over-the-counter jug wines of tobaccodom. If with Roll Your Own one ends up with a harsh and hot smoke, why bother? These producers of inferior blends are shooting themselves in their own feet, when anyone with any marketing savvy could consider the new paradigm of becoming industry and marketing leaders with GREAT tobaccos for a HUGE new market!

As regards the education function, this will require making the public aware of the differences between sub-par tobaccos and good tobaccos. All Virginias are NOT the same, nor are all Burleys, Balkans, Turkish, Periques or other varieties. Even in this I recognize that I myself am mixing varieties with processing methodologies. Just as with a Bordeaux from Bordeaux, versus a generic Bordeaux, there IS a difference. As regards tobaccos, a Virginia Bright grown in one country may be totally different from a Virginia grown in another. I have yet to see anyone really break down all of the families/varietals of tobacco, much less clearly delineate the countries of origin and how they impact the flavors, or how the curing even further defines them. When one gets into the Periques, Latakias and many other tobaccos defined by their curing or other processing, things become even more interesting.

To even further exacerbate the newcomer, most now offer blends with proprietary names and cased (sugared or otherwise flavored)tobaccos with names that tel the buyer little about what they are actually getting. Truth be told, it is in the recognition and understanding of what to expect from a good Virginia, Burley, or Turkish tobacco that serves as the basis of truly experiencing the taste, flavor and aroma experience. More reputable blenders recognize this and readily supply information regarding what is in a blend.

Too, there are other factors in making one's own custom cigarettes that directly impact the enjoyment and understanding. For example, when enjoying a good Cognac one doesn't pour a huge glass, but pours a smaller amount into a snifter to enjoy the color, bouquet and many nuances of flavor. If one puts a full rich tobacco into a huge tube as with an injector machine, they may well get too much of a good thing. This is true with several tobaccos. Sometimes, as in the cognac analogy, less is more and a thinner smoke made with a roller may enable the smoker to better enjoy the subtleties. One side benefit that I have enjoyed with custom made smokes is that I no longer smoke nearly as many cigarettes as there is so much more satisfaction realized when I do smoke.

Another side benefit has been the enjoyment of a broad range of my own blends based upon the time of day, mood, or desire for a different experience, such as my dessert blends, some of which might have more Cavendish and others that might have more burley, more Latakia, or more Turkish. In all, I no longer have the congestion, am no longer subjecting myself to countless additives, and the house no longer has that omnipresent stale reek.

Ultimately, the benefits of custom made cigarettes will make themselves known and the general public will recognize and appreciate the differences. My hope is that those in the industry will continue to make the whole process easier and more understandable. With today's incredibly simple rollers and just a few "user-friendly" blends suggested by vendors with an interest in developing longer term repeat clientele rather than over-selling and confusing buyers with today's plethora of machines, rolling papers, and inferior tobaccos all will be better served.

Ultimately custom made cigarettes are to be enjoyed and the simpler this process can be made the better for all.

Subliminal Messages For Improvement: Hearing the Silent

By Steven Hanna

How do Subliminal Messages work? It relaxes the conscious mind and opens the subconscious part of the brain to the point that suggestions can be accepted. Once the suggestion is accepted and agreed on by the person that hears the hidden suggestions, usually called subliminal affirmations, then it becomes a stable, strong pillar in that persons belief system.

What can Subliminal Messages be used for? The real question is what can't Subliminal Messages be used for. I've seen subliminal messages used for many, many issues. Basically, it can be used for anything a person can imagine. Losing weight and quitting bad habits is most commonly known. There is confidence, insomnia, stress, and sports improvement to name a few. There are also hypnotherapists doing some fabulous things with early stage cancer these days too.

Although Subliminal Messages are rather new, hypnosis seems to have been around for quite sometime. It is believed by many that hypnosis has been around since the time of the Egyptian pyramids. Some believe that it was the practice of hypnosis that made the Egyptians so advanced for their time. Others believe that it dates back even further in time. There really is no way to know when hypnosis was first used. Hypnosis led researchers to study Subliminals more and today they are used in commercials to presidential campaigns! - Lets not forget the "Rats Commercial" a couple of years ago.....

Do you think subliminal messages are here to stay or just a fad? If you have noticed lately, the word "subliminal" is surfacing all over the place. For the first time ever, people are being educated about this subject and the fears of subliminal messages are being cleared. I truly believe it is here to stay and that one day it will become such common practice as brushing your teeth. It's inevitable with its natural simplicity and effective results. How else could you get the rapid progress you get with subliminal programming?

Does the practice of subliminal messages conflict with religion? No, not at all. Subliminal messages tap into a persons natural state that everyone possesses within themselves. If anything this can be used to become better people to one another. If you were to eliminate all the negativity inside you right now, wouldn't you feel more at peace with the world? To find out more about subliminal messages. Visit this great website, http://www.subliminalblackbook.org. We believe that this is a gift that was given to us to improve the way we live.

Steven Hanna is a motivator and speaker who has been studying subliminal messages for a very long time. He currently is also the developer of the Subliminal Black Book. You can visit his website at http://www.subliminalblackbook.org

Self Hypnosis A Powerful Tool

By NamSing Then

Self Hypnosis is a process of autosuggestion, by which an individual trains the subconscious mind to believe something, or systematically organizes the person's own mental associations to achieve a given purpose. This is accomplished by presenting the mind with repetitive, constant, self-affirmative thoughts until those thoughts become internalized. The acceptance of autosuggestion may be quickened through mental visualizations, verbal affirmations, thinking using ones internal voice of that which the individual would like to believe.

The purpose of deliberate autosuggestion are intended to change the way one believes, perceives or thinks, to change one's acts or to change the way one is composed physically or physiologically. A good example is if you are reading every night aloud a written statement describing how you would like to be and then repeating the statement in your mind until you fall asleep. Have that written statement worked out ahead of time, properly prepared and worded and memorized. It is not too difficult to remember them as they are rather short and its you who composed them. If you have them ready and remembered, you can simply think your way through them at this point.

People have reported changes to such a nightly routine or such other methods of autosuggestion, for example, increased confidence, the conquering of life-long fears and improved mental faculties.

When you are doing monologue i.e. conversing with your self, you just talk to yourself about what it is you want to do, be or become. Don't say "you." You are talking to yourself, so use the first person personal pronoun "I." Some suggestions can be more clearly stated in a somewhat more formal sort of way, like, "I am eating less and becoming more slender every day

Relaxation is the first step before beginning autosuggestion. With a tensed mind and an aggressed body autosuggestion wouldnt work effectively. Once you have relaxed then comes the deepening the relaxed state without falling asleep. One simple method is the count-down technique where you simply start counting downward from, say, 20 or 100 or what suits you best. Imagine that you are drifting deeper into deep relaxed state with each count. Other images and thoughts will probably force themselves as you count, which is natural. But gently brush them aside, continuing with your counting.

Never end the session abruptly but rather think to yourself that you are going to be fully awake and alert after you count up to say, three.

Quit Smoking Now

By John Brewer

It has never been more important than right now to quit smoking. Smoking is a very dangerous and addicting habit that affects millions of people throughout the world. 45 million people in the USA alone are addicted smokers. This breaks down to 21 % of the USA population. Of these 45 million, 70% said they wanted to quit.

The best way to quit is to never start. Education plays a huge roll in making sure the next generations of Americans can beat this habit before they even start. However, if you are already addicted to cigarettes, and you want to quit, there are a large number of options for you.

Studies show that to quit smoking requires a 5 step process. These 5 steps will help you quit smoking; for good. You have the best chance of quitting smoking if you use them together.

Step One: Set a quit date. Change your environment and review the times you tried to quit the first time. Do not set the quit date too far out in advance. Set the date within a couple of days. Most people find that if they set a date a few weeks out then they are really not ready to quit smoking. Once you quit, do not smoke againnot even once.

Step Two: OK, you have stoppednow what? Get support and encouragement. Let people you are close to in on your smoking addiction and tell them you are trying to quit. Swallow your pride and tell them this is going to be difficult and that you would appreciate their encouragement and support. Avoid smoking hang-outs for the next few weeks while you are adjusting to life without smoke! Seek advice from your health care provider. Get support from individual, group or telephone counseling. Studies have shown that counseling doubles your chances of success.

Step Three: Get a hobby! Learn new skills and behaviors. Try to distract yourself from the urge to smoke. Go for a walk, develop a new skill or hobby. Do something to reduce your stress such as taking a hot bath, reading or exercising. Drink a lot of water and other fluids.

Step Four: Get Medication and Use it the right way! Medications can help you stop smoking and lessen your urge to smoke. Consult your health care provider for advice and carefully read the package. Nearly everyone who is trying to quit can benefit from using a medication. In addition to traditional medicine such as Nicotine gum or patches, there are herbal, more natural options available:

Herbal Gums and Tablets CigArrest Chewable Tablets and Gum have helped millions of people quit smoking. The 30 day supply chewable CigArrest tablets will help you overcome the urge to smoke whenever the urge strikes. The chewable tablets are the original formula developed by CigArrest. CigArrest also has a 30 day supply of gum. The gum will help control your cravings and replace the oral fixation of smoking.

The Cigarrest formula contains a blend of herbal ingredients to safely treat your smoking habit. The active ingredients are all-natural and are the same in the tablets, the gum and the lozenges. The ingredients in Cigarrest work to make the smoker feel more comfortable while trying to quit. They relieve the nervous tension, irritability and those cravings most people associate with trying to quit smoking.

The CigArrest product contains: Lobelia inflate, Cinchona officinalis, Daphne indica, Plantago major, Calcarea phosphorica and Nux vomica. These herbs combined together in CigArrest are what helps you achieve your goals to quit smoking.

The length of time you stay on the CigArrest program will depend on your personal smoking behavior and your dedication to stopping. In addition, a CigArrest smoking councelor is available to help you should you need help.

The CigArrest program has been sold for over 20 years and during that time they have not had any serious reactions or negative side-effects ever reported. The CigArrest product is safe.

Step Five Be prepared for a relapse or difficult situations. Most relapses will occur within a 3 month period. However, if you are prepared you can fight the need to relapse. Dont get discouraged if you start smoking again. Instead, start the process over. Dont give up. Questions to consider Think about each of these questions before you try to stop smoking. You may want to discuss your answers with your health care provider, friends and family. 1. Why do you want to quit?

2. When you tried to quit in the past, what helped and what didn't?

3. What will be the most difficult situations for you after you quit? How will you plan to handle them?

4. Who can help you through the tough times? Your family? Friends? Health care provider?

5. What satisfaction do you get from smoking? What ways can you still get satisfaction if you quit?

Who Needs a Cigarette

By Andy Maingam

With so many folks in the Western world giving up the fags, the big tobacco companies are now focusing on the Third World Market, where the education on the harms of cigarette smoking is much less. Fortunately, even in poorer communities, there are more and more opportunities to access information via the World Wide Web, even if there might be 50 people queuing up to have a surf on one old PC. The people of the world have a right to know about the dangers of nicotine.

So what's the fascination and why do so many of us smoke anyway? Why do we need a cigarette? Well, there was a time when smoking was kind of the chic and fashionable thing to do in many social environments. Young lads thought that smoking made them look tough and masculine to the ladies, and the girls often smoked to fit in with the crowd. Sadly, there are still many youngsters that pick up the habit today even though their parents generation are giving it up in large numbers.

Cigarette packets now warn of the risks of smoking, but the shock element of this seems to have lost its impact in recent years. Still, all is not lost, and it's becoming harder to smoke in public places these days and there are more and more campaigns to help folks quit than ever before.

One of the main reasons it's so hard to stop the smoking habit is the physical attribute. This can be related to the nicotine cravings that many people have when they have not had a cigarette for a certain period of time. The temptation of having a single cigarette is enough to make you want give up 'giving up'. Many times I attempted to stop for another day, but at lunch time I just cracked and had to beg for a cigarette off of a work mate.

Armed with the knowledge that cigarette smoking is one of the leading causes of heart disease, strokes, and lung cancer, did little to deter me when I was a chain smoker. It doesn't get much crazier than that. I mean, where's the healthy fear in all of this?

The risk becomes even higher if cigarette smoking is combined with alcohol as folks tend to smoke twice as much with glass in hand. Many doctors give advice to ex-smokers suggesting they avoid alcohol temporarily after quitting, since drinking alcoholic beverages seems to induce relapses in cigarette smoking.

The chemical affect of the drug doesn't have to work very hard to keep most smokers addicted. It will have you will reinforce your perceived satisfaction with just about every drag through your thoughts and words, and your will power goes straight out of the window after a glass or two of your favorite alcoholic tipple.

But if you sit down and seriously think about the harms you're doing to yourself through smoking, then doesn't it make sense to try and stop? If you slip, and have a cigarette, don't beat yourself up. Try to think of those cigarette cravings as an opportunity to quit. Look at them as a natural part of the healing process. Fight FOR you health and not AGAINST the drug. Fighting for something is a lot more successful than fighting against it. Try to look at what you will gain by not smoking and not what you will lose.

Who really needs a cigarette? Absolutely no one!

Stop Smoking? The First Step is the Hardest

By Eric Hartwell

Congratulations! You have taken the first step in improving your health, wealth and life expectancy.

Really?

Yes!

The first step in any journey involves thinking about what you are going to do. If you are a smoker and you are reading this, then I presume you are thinking about giving up.

Possibly, certainly. Probably hopefully!

And the first step is often the hardest of all. Smoking is a difficult habit to break. It can cause you a good deal of anxiety and restlessness. Making the decision to even contemplate giving up smoking can be difficult because of the fact that you have admitted it would be a good idea (else you couldnt have even thought about it) and because it is going to tax you, try your will power to the limit and put you in a position of being quite uncomfortable.

It is difficult, dont let anyone else tell you otherwise.

But many, just like you, have done it successfully. They, too, made the first step. They too had the feelings of dread and unsavoury anticipation. They too wondered if they were doing the right thing.

But they took that first step. And then they went and took another. Then a few more steps until they realised that they have control of their habit, rather than the habit having control over them.

It felt good for them to be in control once more. Now they often cannot stand being near smoke and people who smoke. They feel fitter, their clothes smell less, their skin, breathing and breath have all improved. And they have saved a few dollars into the bargain.

Congratulations of your first step! You will not regret it.
